The exposure tree

Recently I decided to film an “exposure tree” on Kodak Vision 3 250D 16mm film stock to create a template or rather, an overview of look and feel that can give an idea of direction in a certain scene when filming a face. This particular exposure tree involves two factors; a key light and a backlight. A more advanced version would also include a fill light and background light rather than here, a key light and back light.

The measurements were done utilising a Lit Systems Lit Duo 1 light meter. For illumination a Maxima 6 was used as key light (fixed daylight at 5600K) and a Litepanels Gemini 1x1 Hard (set to 3200K tungsten). Modelling was done by “Ken - the light head”. Filmed on Krasnogorsk 3 with a Meteor-5-1 17-69mm F1.9 zoom lens.

Thank you Cinelab Berlin for stock and lab service.
